Pocket Alerter
All Retained Duty Ff's carry with them a pocket alerter, this will operate when they are required to attend the fire station for an incident. Different brigades have different types of alerter/pager, Notts have several different styles (see images).
I have added the sound of some of the alerters (middle 3), if you wish to hear them.
The pocket alerter replaced the old system of the buzzer/siren operating at the fire station, and the house bell in the Ff's house in the 70's. This gave the Ff's a lot more freedom to potter around the local village/town knowing that they will hear the alerter better that the siren on the station.
