ChartObject INCIDENTS 1999

F.A.G.I. = False Alarm Good Intent, F.A.APP = False Alarm Apparatus (usually automatic fire alarms)

F.A.M = False Alarm Malicious, R.T.A = Road Traffic Accident, Spec Serv = All rescues (not RTA's).

The air crash attended was an interesting incident, it involved a RAF Tornado and a civilian Cessna. The mid air collision took place about 6 miles north of Retford and spread debris over a large area narrowly missing a school. Unfortunately all the persons involved were killed instantly and some of the crew found this very distressing, but to help them through counselling was available. The incident had national media coverage as some viewers of this site may remember. We do actually attend a few aircraft in trouble throughout the year with Gamston airfield being close to Retford, but most of these turn out to be False Alarms (luckily!).
